HONG KONG, July 28 (Reuters) - Shares in Zijin Mining Group Co Ltd <2899.HK> extended losses Wednesday morning, falling over 4 percent on news that China's government had ordered the company to curb gold mining production after a pollution discharge.

Zijin Mining Group Co. said that it has asked for its shares to be suspended from trading tomorrow, pending the release of price-sensitive information.

Zijin arrest sparks mixed day
Shares of Zijin Mining Group (2899) fell nearly 1 percent to close at HK$5.10 two days after a suspension. They did not trade on Monday or Tuesday.
Eastday-Zijin Mining fell after told to limit production
Shares of Zijin Mining Group Co. fell 1.4 percent to 5.64 yuan (0.83 U.S. dollar) at Wednesday's opening on the Shanghai bourse after the company said late Tuesday that it was asked to limit production at a gold mine in the area where its copper mine polluted a river in east China's Fujian Province.
